Greg ventured to Royal Randwick for Melbourne Cup day 2009.

Tudor Magic raced at Randwick  with one of her very excited owners. It was Tudor Magics second race start. She jumped well and over-raced slightly. Out on a limb at one stage and was still able to continue the fight to take the lead and win. It was a fantastic effort and very exciting to watch.

The winning margin was 0.2 lengths by 0.4 lengths and in the respectable time of 35.12 for the last 600m over the 1100 distance. She was sent out at the very generous odds of $18.00 from barrier 7 in a 12 horse field. Placings were Never (JP Thompson, Warwick Farm) 2nd and Ouija (P Snowden, Warwick Farm) 3rd. The beaten favourite was World Wide. Her jockey Tim Bell(a) was impressed with her tenacity and felt the filly will benefit from this experience.

Ilringya was the winner of the last race in Sydney on Melbourne cup day.   Ilringya was ably ridden by apprentice Tommy Berry.
