Perfect Weapon continued his brilliant winter form.

Perfect Weapon has thrived at Warwick Farm with three wins from his four outings there in June and July, including his success in the Declaration Of War Benchmark 75 Handicap (1300m).

The four-year-old won over the 1300m course at Warwick Farm a fortnight earlier but rose in both class and weight for his latest assignment.

Trainer Greg Hickman booked apprentice Sam Clipperton to partner Perfect Weapon after the pair combined perfectly last time out.

Clipperton made the most of Perfect Weapon’s strong start to have him positioned behind the speed before letting him drift back slightly when a strong speed emerged midrace.

Perfect Weapon improved to be on the back of the front-runners approaching the home turn before Clipperton eased him to the centre of the track to make his run in the straight.

Perfect Weapon had 59.5kg to contend with, but proved too tough in the latter stages to get home by three-quarters of a length.

Perfect Weapon earned another $23,000 for his latest victory, which pushed his stakes tally to more than $150,000.

Congratulations to Perfect Weapon’s owners
